Chaplain Makonnen (Yaddi) possesses a Master of Divinity degree from Liberty University and holds several counseling certifications including Lasting Intimacy through Nurturing Knowledge and Skills, Premarital Interpersonal Knowledge and Choices, and theophostic prayer counseling. Chaplain Makonnen has obtained a peace officer license and correctional officer certification and now uses those former crisis intervention skills to love and care for the hurting. He has been a chaplain for the Army, medical facilities, and law enforcement. He has also completed clinical pastoral education through the St. Cloud, MN Veterans Administration Hospital and has been a pastor for Baptist, Assemblies of God, and Lutheran churches. Chaplain Makonnen currently owns his own studio and is building the innovative armychapel, swaggerchurch, and Giving Hope Counseling LLC brands.
Chaplain Makonnen’s wife, Kimberly Makonnen, is the owner of Giving Hope Counseling LLC. Together, they have a mission to cherish the living, care for the emotionally and physically wounded, honor those who have passed, and bring people to the healing grace of Christ.
